i think that that the zone should have like an anouncement telling us who has loged out?

don't know about you but what i find anoying is that it says who has loged in but not who loged out?

Sometimes it shows the person still logged in when they really are not logged in. Its annoying sending private messages to persons who are no longer there. My personal opinion is that the person you are talking to closes the internet browsing window without actually logging off first. Thus the system still shows the user as being logged in until the timeout scheme loggs them out automatically. -- JG

Didn't they used to have a sound played as well as the message, when someone loggs in? I wasn't sure because I know it was discussed or something like that. Anyway, I agree that there should be some kind of notification for when someone logs out. We have it for when they log in and even for when we get new messages, so I think the logout one would be good, especially because of the quicknote thing mentioned already.

I think the idea is really good. Sometimes I want to write a quicknote to someone, and when i am in the combo box, I find out that this person has logged out already.

JG hit the nail on the head. Most people just close their browser or navigate away, so they are logged out after a certain period of time. After 5 minutes you disappear from the list of logged in users but you're still technically logged in--if you visit a new page on the site, you won't have to log in again. After 20 minutes (I think) you are actually logged out and will have to log back in. The best way to see if someone is actively here is to check the list of people online or the quicknote combo box.

I think this is a really good idea!!! The whole thing with a sound as well as "stargate has just logged out" seems cool to me!!!

I also think its a good idea. I use to just close the browser without logging out, but I've seen when others do it, it looks like they're logged in when they're not. When I log out, I want people to knowI'm gone.

Well, I usually just close the browser, but now i'll log out to sae people the hassle. I think that a good idea like say %Person% has just loged out with like a door slamming sound or something in that matter. Sometimes, i'll look for somebody to talk to only to find they're gone allready. Maybe you can make a javascript thing on all of the pages Criss N or J so that whenn a page is closed, javascript will call the log out lik to log you out instantaniously. Don't know if that would make any bad part for the user, but just when they close the window, like log them out and them do a window.close javascript. Just my opinion. That way it would avoid the confussion with the billions of people who just close their browsers like me.

I like the idea of Stargate that there should be a log out announcement, together with an accompanying sound, if possible. Also, I think if you close your browser without logging out, you should be logged out immediately.
If you want to log back in, there shouldn't be a problem and it's not really a hassle, is it?
So: thumbs up for the log out thing!
